私が子供の頃にテレビで放映されていた番組を、なんとアニメ「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン」の作者であり監督の「庵野秀明」がリメイクした実写作品である。巨大不明生物が暴れる日本で、日本政府は怪獣対策班を設立して対応していた。そんな中、謎の巨人「ウルトラマン」が現れ怪獣を退治す、しかしその時に隊員の「神永新二」が子供を守るために死亡する。「ウルトラマン」は自身の命と彼の命を融合させて命を助ける。「神永新二」は3分間だけ「ウルトラマン」に変身して怪獣と戦う体を手に入れる。しかし地球を独占したい外星人「メフィラス」や、「ウルトラマン」と同じ種族だが冷酷な「ゼラフィス」と戦うこととなる。 It is a live-action remake of a program that was broadcast on TV when I was a child, by "Hideaki Anno", the creator and director of the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” anime.

However, a member of the team, Shinji Kaminaga", dies while trying to protect his child. "Ultraman" saves his life by merging his own life with "Ultraman's life". "Shinji Kaminaga" transforms into Ultraman for three minutes and obtains a body to fight the monsters. However, he has to fight against Mephilus, an alien who wants to "monopolize" the earth, and the ruthless "Zelaphis", who is of the same species as "Ultraman" but is ruthless.
